This XGuard 10 manufactured by FAAC is the very latest in high-end laser based technology that offers unrivalled safety for sliding gates. We installed these at an industrial estate in Washington to ensure the existing 9 metre long sliding gate is as safe as possible for the many tenants and employees who access the site 24 hours a day. The site is used by low loading trucks and high riding articulated wagons which could potentially fail to trigger a traditional photocell sensor.
The XGuard 10 projects a laser grid across a large plane and offers a complete three-dimensional detection of objects as small as just a few centimetres. Where traditional photocell transmitters simply transmit a straight infra-red beam across the gate opening at a certain height, leaving the vast majority of the gate opening unprotected, the XGuard covers the entire gate opening.
Furthermore, the XGuard is certified PL “d”/CAT 2 according to EN ISO 13849-1 and Type E according to EN12453.
