FAAC Safety Photocells

These FAAC XP20 safety photocells were installed as part of a full automation system for a set of double swing gates in Newcastle. The XP20 photocells transmit an infra-red beam from the transmitter to a receiver and when the beam is broken by a car or pedestrian a signal is sent to the control board which recognises that there is an obstruction and thus prevents the gates from closing.

The sensors have a 20 metre range which makes them ideal for most entrances whilst looking sleek and sturdy. The base plate is anchored to a concrete foundation and the column is manufactured from brushed aluminium meaning it will last for many years.
